What is Medicare-Question
I am an 80% disabled veteran. I live close to a VA facility and they take good care of me. I am enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. Will I be in trouble because I didn't sign up for a Part D plan?

Answer to What is Medicare question
Prescription drug coverage offered by a Veterans’ Affairs (VA) facility is considered creditable drug coverage for Medicare purposes.

That means a veteran with this coverage does not have to enroll in a Medicare Part D, prescription drug plan. In the future, if you find it necessary to sign up for Part D plan, you can do so during the Open Enrollment Period (October 15-December 7) and there would be no late enrollment penalty.
