Medicare has four parts: Part A, hospital insurance, Part B, medical insurance, Part C, Medicare Advantage, and Part D, prescription drug plan. There is no Part F.

There may be two reasons for the confusion.
- Some insurance brokers refer to Medigap policies (Medicare supplement plans) as Part F. That is not correct, because a supplement plan is not part of Medicare.
- There is a Medigap plan F, just one of 10 standardized Medicare supplement plans. Some websites refer to this as Part F, again a misnomer.
It's also important to mention that even though it's called Part C, Medicare Advantage is really a combination of Part A, Part B, and Part D.
