Should I consider using a mail order pharmacy for my prescription medications?

Plans cannot make their members use a mail-order pharmacy. |

In some cases, this can be a money-saving option, but in others, it can cost more. The best advice: Check out the projected costs in the Medicare Plan Finder. On the screen titled, “Your Plan Results,” you’ll find a column that summarizes retail and mail order costs. Below are two examples. Using a mail order pharmacy for Plan A would save $79 a year; however, with Plan B, a mail order pharmacy would cost $560 more. |
