What is Medicare-Question
Does a Medicare drug plan cover over-the-counter drugs?

Answer to What is Medicare question
No, a Part D prescription drug plan generally covers only prescription drugs and won’t pay for over-the-counter drugs like acetaminophen and cough medicine.

The one exception is the over-the-counter versions of insulin. A Part D plan will cover insulin that is available without a prescription.
